welcome

Mentoplasty, or chin surgery, is designed to reduce a protruding chin or enhance the chin with an implant. It can also be done to alter the angularity of the chin. To correct a receded chin, the surgeon will make an incision in the natural crease located under the chin or in the mouth. He then inserts an implant, either made of silicone or another synthetic material. The implants are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. To correct a protruding chin, the surgeon typically reshapes the bone to a smaller size, or repositions the facial bones.

Although immediately after surgery, you might feel some tenderness, this usually disappears in about a week, and most swelling also subsides in a few weeks. Complete recovery usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks.
