Laser Skin Resurfacing is a procedure designed to improve the texture and clarity of your skin. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia, but patients will be well enough to go home that same day. It involves the use of a laser beam that consists of carbon dioxide or erbium, which removes the outer layers of damaged skin. Complete recovery takes about 2 to 4 weeks. The results of the procedure are not permanent as your skin will continue to age naturally. However, long term recovery can be achieved through a series of repeated treatments.
