Non-Surgical - Collagen and Fillers
Collagen and other fillers can be injected to add fullness to lips, improve shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles, and improve the appearance of scars. There are a variety of different fillers that can be used, including collagen, hyaluronic acid, hydroxylapatite, human fat, and polymethylmethacrylate fillers. You and your physician should determine the best type of filler for your individual circumstances.
The injection of the fillers only requires a topical or local anesthetic and therefore can be done at the surgeon’s office. They are injected into or under the second layer of facial skin. There is little recovery needed after this procedure and complete recovery can be attained in about 1 to 2 weeks.
